In 1979, the movie “Alien” by Ridley Scott became very famous, not only because of its storyline, but because of the part-robot, part-human aliens in it. It is safe to say that when this movie hit the screens, it revolutionized a new genre of ink: Biomechanical tattoos. Designed by H. Giger, these half-man, half-robots are usually seen on the bodies of men who are looking for unique, futuristic designs. They are usually depicted as human beings with exposed wires and circuitry.As has been said, one of the most famous tattoos of biomechanical beings includes the strange species from the movie “Alien”. Another renowned style includes the Borgs from the popular Star Trek TV and movie series.

Apart from these designs, new-age tattoo stylists have given Biomechanical tattoos a different dimension. Some artists craft torn skin that appears to expose machinery and devices under the skin. Because they involve machinery, most of the colors involved are neutral, such as black, grey and silver. However, more and more people are opting for tattoos of Biomechanical beings in vivid colors, such as green, yellow, orange and blue.
