It's very clever what you've done there. I do have a concern that the semicolon is so subtle that it would be missed. I don't know how I'd make it more pronounced though.
I like the idea of having sound waves on the opposite side of the tree. My wife has brought up the idea of doing a sound wave of her saying "I love you".
Here is an initial design, the tree and vine forming the semicolon, your wife and daughter adorning the image, and involved in finishing the semicolon. I’d like to add something on the other side of the semicolon, perhaps some subtle sound waves framing it, or maybe other scenery? I think the background will mean that the eye will be drawn even more so to the white space of the colon. I’ll wait to hear your thoughts! I hope you like it.
