Invitations to join contests

Postby jennsart63 » Thu Apr 26, 2012 12:52 am

I've been getting invites to contest, however they are usually more than one at a time. I get a list of contests in one e-mail and honestly it doesn't massage my ego...as I believe this is the administrators sending out the invites to new contests posted to bring in submissions. Is there a way to stop these e-mails that I don't know about? I know where to find the contests and can pick the ones I want to submit to, I really don't need the additional e-mails.

I found it, there is a checked box under "My account," for "New contest notifications," just remove the check from the box, if you don't want notification e-mails for invites to new contests...

Just to let you know, those are from the contest holders...I have often thanked people who invite me when I submit to their contest; and I have never had one who didn't know what I was referring to. So you might want to pay attention to them, or not, your choice. Generally it means the contest holder saw something they liked on your page though, so it could benefit you in the long run.

Hmmm I have seen some people thanking the CH for an invite, but I thought that was something else, that they were getting a direct invite from a CH, not a list of new contests...I just get so much junk mail to weed through already and thought it was just a list of the newest contests. Maybe it's time to start a new e-mail address? Thanks for the insight!

Hi, There appears to be some confusion here:

1) Three times a week our system automatically sends out an email to the artists listing the new contests since the prior email. The email subject will be "CreateMyTattoo - New Tattoo Design Requests." No where on these emails should it suggest or say that it is an invitation to these contests. These automated emails can be turned off by unselecting " the "New Contest Notifications."

2) When a customer invites an artist to their contest the artist will receive a single email per invite. Also artist can see what contests they have been invited to by going to the "Contests" tab in their account. It will say "Invited" next to the contest.

3) The CMT team does not invite ANY artists to the contests. Every invite received is a legitimate request from a customer. Feel free to ask any of the customers.

Ahh thanks for this info...I didn't think they were all personal invites, as they looked like an automated list from admin. I have said at one contest, " thanks for the invite," just to see what their response would be. However, what would they say? "Sorry but I didn't invite you?" That wouldn't inspire an artist to submit anything! Thanks for clarifying!

Yeah, I wouldn't let it affect your ego at all.. Naturally the contest holders want entries so they go down the list of tattoo designers inviting everybody.. I don't see why being notified is such an issue..

It's not an issue, for notifications from admin, it's an option. If you want to be notified 3 x's per week of new contests they will send them, if you don't want them there is a box in your account that you can un-check and they will stop sending them...that simple.

Yep, I have gotten the mass emails with a list, but the email from a personal invite from a CH looks different. THe little "invited" you see in your Contest list after joining is green.
