1st off, I din't ask to join, I was asked to join.
2nd, my point was entirely that good art takes time and there was not enuff time for me to do something that would win. If I don't think I can win it, I don't do it. I'm not going to "submit what I got" because I don't "got" anything.
3rd and finally, It's "bogus" to limit the contest holder's options with "It's not fair." It's their contest and they deserve the best entry for their prize money. If that's you, great, if it's me, better. But why was he sending out last minute invitations if he was getting what he wanted? Things that make you go "Hmmm?"

...and, $700 (with a $25 bonus for TOP 10 Artists at the site, Thank you) buys a lot of BACON! In fact, I'm eating some right now.

Good art takes time. Not even the Blindog can talk his way around that. Plus his belly is full of bacon after that Final Fantasy win.

but then you would be competing against me, if he extends it. You would have to bring your A-game, it might make the 2 princes a little muffed... but they'll get over it.

So, how does THAT sound, D Brew? Can you hang with an extension?
I get back Monday, and I'll have a clear head and a gold medal, ready to fight, a perfect combo for creativity.

My apologies for not being able to submit anything. This project is completely do-able and seems like a ton of fun but other things came up, unfortunately. It seems like you should extend the contest? You'de get more submissions, to be sure. Best of luck!

No, I really can't, really. I just finished doing a Full Back Final Fantasy design that logged about 60 hours, for one thing, but you have 3 contestants that are viaing for the lead and have worked on this for 2 weeks. I would have to continue my sleeplessness with a pot of black coffee, a 5 hr Energy drink, and a gram of crystal meth to pull this off.

I leave for California at noon tomorrow for a Judo Tournament and I've had 4 hours sleep in the last 2 days getting this $700 design done on time. Tribal designs are precision line work that take extreme focus to make it all work AND they are very difficult for me. I've won several tribal contests but I do them in Adobe Illustrator so the lines are perfect and that program zaps me, sometimes.

So, what I'm saying is, with the amount of time left and given my situation, no. I don't do anything half-ass if I'm not positive there is a chance I can win. And my odds are stacked against me, so it's not really fair to me. I mean, I think I'm good, ...really good, but I ain't THAT good. (I know, I'm a DIVA).

So, thank you for the invitation, sincerely. I've added this to my watch-list and if time runs out and you don't have a winner & feel a need to extend the contest further... I will certainly schedule time for your design, but you have 3 that are neck & neck!

I have a really tight schedule these days and it takes 2 people to manage it. I get about 5 or 6 design invitions every other day. So I gotta pick and choose carefully. I can't just "jump in" at the last minute and swoop and scoop. I've done it before, but that was a long time ago when I had time on my hands and I was itching for battle. I do this full time so I have to plan my battles.

Hope I've explained myself well. I don't wanna be a a-hole, just being honest.

Last submission is sick! It melds with your current tattoo perfectly. It looks more like a stand alone piece, instead of two separate pieces. Love it.

yes mate I know ,but what we can do .That was his choice and we have to swallow that pill.

We were robbed on the the B-25 tattoo. How was the winning selection better than ALL the other submissions? I would have chosen EVERYTHING else. I don't get it. Do you?

I also can't get your link to work. By Cherokee Tribal tattoos, are you meaning that you want a tattoo that is like the Cherokee Indians had tattooed on themselves? If so, their tattoos usually showed their life histories in a series of realistic/semi-realistic pieces of art. Their language was written as pictures, rather than with letters, according to what I have been able to find. So, if this is somewhat along the lines of what you are looking for, we will need more information. Quite often the rattlesnake, skull, feathers, and wolf, as well as other animals were shown in their tattoos (on men), however, on women, no animals were ever shown, as this was believed to bring bad luck to their hunting. I just thought this was rather interesting information. Maybe way off track, but it may be helpful for all the artists at some point in the future.
So, considering this, I am a little confused about what you are looking for. If you are wanting a tattoo that includes any animals, feathers, etc, you will need to let us know what ones you would like to see incorporated into the design. Thanks (in advance) for clearing up exactly what you are looking for in this tattoo!

I tried to check out that link........didn't work? I tried to hunt down "Cherokee" tribal, didn't find anything like that?
It would be nice if you had a good clear pic of the tattoo so as to be able to do something around it.......these working with other tats is very, very difficult!

For me, I would say, since there is NO WAY to have it fit perfectly with your current tat....then, what I have recommended in the past is have artwork that can just be faded out at the border with your current tattoo.

Sounds like you want "Native" style, I do some Polynesian/NDN mix style.........it is not one or the other, it is just inspired by "Natives".......I have time to do this, but I know I will be taking a risk with it......

I do have some ideas, if you read this fairly soon, please reply....I will NOT try to make it fit around what you have, I will make it so it can be done up to what you have, maybe more that one drawing that can be fitted together by your tattoo artist......cool?
