Wow, this design took me a little longer than I had hoped, but I got it done like I said I would :)

I just want to fill you in on the quick coloring I did on the side with the rose. I was thinking that the green could fade to black at the end of the thorny parts. The only reason I did this was because I have the cover up actually connecting to the rose's vines/thorns and wanted it to all blend together. Sorry that only that little bit has color. I was going to re-shade the entire rose design but it was a little too grainy for me to really make out all the details. I would have needed something really really clear to do some serious modifying.

I wish I could have come up with a couple concepts for you but as I mentioned before, I've got a lot going on at this point in time so the time I have to work on designs is limited. I gave it my best shot though.

Thats cool, I am putting my trust in you. As far as the star with the moon the main thing I dont like about it is the moon and because they are so close together, looks more like the egyptian symbol. So, if you can fix that aspect of it, but fit the star itself in that would be okay. I thank you again so much for your efforts. Cant wait.

Okays...so a bit of an update. I really was not impressed with what I cranked out the first time around so I'm just gonna scrap that one and show you this other one I've come up with (should have it up sometime tonight). The only thing is, I can't seem to figure out how to cover that star that's in the moon. Whatever I try just doesn't look good. I tried doing something similar to the points like in the drawing I first showed you but, I still don't like it. I also tried to do a complete filled in circle cover up, with some kind of tribal point coming out of the opening of the moon, but even that looked odd. So, I'm gonna take a chance and leave it as is. I'm also guessing that you must like stars to some degree to have gotten them tattooed in the first place, so it really might not hurt to keep just that one as a way to show people that you like them :) I think overall, leaving this one star as it is would be the best route. I just really worry that any design used to cover it up would eventually bleed into the surrounding ink anyway with how little space there is between the star's points and the moon, and then you'd be left with a messy black blob :/

I've also got the other side in the works but it likely won't be submitted until the final day of the contest. Just have a lot of other things going on that are also taking up my time. But no worries...I WILL have it ready before the contest ends :)

Thank you for the compliments and critique! Very helpful :) I can easily take the dots out, and change the cover up of that lower small star for ya. No problem. I'll also do something to the upper section so that it comes up on your shoulder more. I had originally thought of doing that, so I'm glad you mentioned that you'd like to see that. I always like to see what the contest holders think before getting too far into the design. It's easier to add than take away. But yeah, I really want to create something for you that will kick ass :) I'll be able to work on it more Friday, and should hopefully have something to show you in a few days. I think in addition to the one I'm working on now, I'm gonna do another completely different design. That way you have more than one from me to consider. Tribals have always been fun for me so I don't mind doing more than one lol

Shit one more thing lol. The very bottom star is there a way to make that look better? What I mean is, Not so starish and seperate from the rest? God I dont know if I am explaining this right? Do you see what I mean?

I am very impressed with your work. Thank you so much. I would like to see your other submissions to come, but thank you for showing me what you have. I would like to see an angle of what my rose is going to look like in the middle of all this. Also, maybe have it come up my shoulder a little bit more not too much, I like the idea thirteen had on my shoulder. In the pic above. Also, are the dots part of it? I wouldnt want the dots. And like you said maybe do something else with the moon and star part so it doesnt look so much like that. But you are so on the right track! I am very happy with what you have done so far. If you need any other info or have any questions or even suggestions i am totally open. Thank you! : )

I've got a little more work I'm gonna do to #5103 (need to make some changes to the design covering the moon), but I wanted you to see what I've done already. I've also got the continuation of the design as it would appear on the other side of your arm, on it's way :)

But are you saying it would be impossible to cover them and still come up with something that will look good? I def like your drawing, I think you did a really good job. Your could be right in the sense that may be my option in the end. I was really hoping to find something where I could cover it. I just dont like the way it looks or was done. Do you think there is a way to cover it with tribal and then adding something else? like a rose, or picture of some sort? I really like the swirl design you did on the top part of the shoulder by the way. I think you may be on the right track. I would love to see some other designs from you, ideas... If you get a chance. Thanks so much for your work so far!

To actually cover your largest star I am afraid you'll end up with an area dominated by a shape without flow, I suggest incorporating the existing tattoos but making them better of course...13

Saw your need. Hmmm, I am not really good at tribals or maybe I just haven't given them a chance. I will see what I can present to you. Thanks for the complement on my work.

I absolutley agree Art. I tried to measure some of these points you mentioned. Doing it myself I had a hard time making sure my numbers were totally accurate. But from the tip of my shoulder straight down to the end of the rose and last star is about 9inches long and roughly 7 inches wide. The little solid stars are about 1 inch wide. The biggest star on the back of my arm you see in the photo is about 3inches wide. My rose is a little harder because of the tribal. But its about 3X5. I understand the winning art may need to be tweaked a little bit once I get to a shop. I am just trying to have someone come up with a good idea. That I like, that they think could cover it. I am totally open for discussion on this. I also appreciate your comment on this. I hope someone can help. : )

Doing this over the internet with the specific sizes, angles, and placements that will be hard to get a perfect cover up design without seeing it in person. Your tat artist might have to tweak the winning design to make it fit perfectly. Some measurements will help. height from highest point to lowest point. Width at widest points. Sizes of the stars. Size the the rose tattoo height and width, will help get a more accurate cover up as the layout is really technical on this.

I personally wont enter this contest as my skills are not advanced enough for this. but the measurements will help others alot.

Also the circumference of your arm, some people might want to design something that wraps all the way around, to do it properly you need that measurement
