Maybe some faint shading or shadow? Or light background to match the star/s or heart/s?

Thankyou!

Have I done something wrong?
February 14 2012 2:30pm
I have no entries and little interest with only 2 days left. I thought I was being generous with $50 because I thought it would only take people about 30 mins to make some additions but I think I must have done something wrong.

Sorry.

Meaning
February 14 2012 2:28pm
Literally it means "while there is still wine, get drunk" but it is from an old Chinese poem meaning live for today, don't worry about tomorrow.

Hi there
February 9 2012 2:04am
Thanks for you comment. Yes I know the meaning, I chose it myself and have some Chinese friends so they confirmed that it was correct and the meaning etc. I think it is a phrase quite fitting to me as I usually live for the day and don't worry too much about the future. I also like to drink wine :)

I do actually love Chinese tattoos that go vertically down the back, but for me I am going to leave my back and legs tattoo-free. But I think my girlfriend might go for something like that (she is Thai).

I wanted it across my chest as a lot of people have English text across their chest and I have been thinking for a while I wanted something like that...but not English. So I went for the Chinese as I am quite in love with all things Chinese. I am open to suggestion about other fonts/typeface etc as the place where I got the phrase didn't have many to choose from. I will get the romanization of it up soon.

Thankyou very much :)

Hey there! I'm a Chinese and would like to give you some suggestions, and possibly a great design for you.

I think it's interesting to do a Tattoo with Chinese, however, I hope that you haven't tattooed the Chinese yet because I think the typeface (font) you chose doesn't look very cool. Also, do you know the meaning of that phrase? Just wanted to make sure because I see lots of non-Chinese Tattooed nonsense or meaningless Chinese words on their bodies. The phrase you chose isn't nonsense, but just would like to know if that's what you wanted. :)

Also, it suggest you to put the Tattoo on the back vertically, because that's how Chinese words are written traditionally, and that'll be way cooler than putting the Chinese words horizontally on your chest.

I have added a photo of my current tattoos.

could you upload a picture of your chest with the star and heart? it would help to see their exact location if anyone decides to design something incorporating them. thanks for the invite!

thanks for the invite, i will fiddle around with your images a little & show you some options. Chinese lettering is usually straight across, or sometimes vertical, but for the sake of design you could certainly curve it to suit the chest. Are you wanting any color or just black?
cheers,
Andria

Curvature
February 2 2012 3:52pm
Looking at it now, I think my curving attempt isn't too good. Should Chinese lettering be curved? Or just some higher than the others? I don't know, sorry.
