Oy, just noticed the yellow glare from the fire was a bit too strong, toned it down and uploaded a better detail shot for you.

Well the "zoom" function here is hardly a zoom, especially with such a long design, so here is a close up so you can see Sekhmet better. :)

One piece dress, I think. I also think, despite my own skin tone, which is olive, to make it a little darker, so that it stands out, and that it's more of an Egyptian skin tone. Thanks again!!

I was thinking it might be nice to allow your own skin color to be her skin color, unless you would like her to be darker. If that is the case, I will just do shading on her body, and where you see "white" of the paper, that would be your skin, not white ink.

If you can give me an approximation of your skin tone, I may even be able to put that in behind the picture so you could see what I mean with the color version.

P.S. One piece or two piece dress?

Love the additions! And thank you for your train of thought, since she's a favorite goddess and one I can hope to represent strength for me. Thank you!!

Alright here she is all inked in!

Do you like the eye of Horus?

I have become quite fond of this design, let me tell you a little about the inspiration now, since she is easier to see.

Her pose is from my own understanding of how a human would look, prowling like a lion. I even went so far as to slink about on all fours using a movement that seemed graceful, rather than lumbering, but still natural for a human body. I chose to draw her from the front, because otherwise she seemed too contorted.

I chose to use a realistic lions face, since I wanted to portray what she might look like if you were to spy her in life, rather than a carving on a wall.

However, the symbol of the snake I decided to give that "flattened" look that is found in the Egyptian carvings, the eye of Horus also seemed a good idea to fill in the blank space of the sun disk, since I found my eye being repeatedly drawn to that emptiness, rather than flowing around the picture to take in the details. It also seemed fitting since Horus is the god of the rising and setting sun.

Her Ankh is heavy and ornate, a jewel is set in its center. Her tail I chose to lengthen so that it might be a centerpiece of its own, and the fire that rises from the sun moves in unison with the twist of her tail. I imagine if she were to lash her tail, the flames would dance and flare as well.

Her garb is based off of the carvings found of her, granted I spiced it up a bit, and shortened her skirts for better movement. No one likes to prowl in a floor length gown. ;) I gave her the headdress and the wrap style cloth that I found in my research. The cloth could be all one piece - like a dress, or two - like a skirt and top, depending how I color in the torso area. What do you prefer?

Any other changes before I begin coloring her?

I think a color gradient in the sun disc would look nice. No on the whiskers, and I guess I'd like to see what it would look like with the eye of horus in there. Thanks!

do you want me to give her whiskers?

I am inking her today, hope to color her as well if I can get a few answers. Is there any other symbology you might like to incorporate within the sun disk to spice it up or do you want it to remain one solid color? Could I add gradient to the red in the sun disk, or put the eye of Horus within it?

Thank you!
absolutely!

This is in no way a finished design. With complex tattoo designs like this, I like to upload a sketch first and see if I am even on the right track before proceeding into permanent ink and color. :)

I will ink it and color it next. :) Bright jewel tones noted.

I love your name, by the way. Anyhow, love the drawing. Can you add color? I like bright jewel tones. I think it looks great without the staff. Thank you!!

Here is the sketch I have drawn up for you. Any feedback, suggestions, critique is encouraged, as I have plenty of time for revision!

I could not figure out how to incorporate the staff as of yet... however the solar disk, serpent, ankh, and fire are there. :)

Do you like her snarling?
