Summary:
I am looking for two Mermaids that will become the centerpiece of my full sleeve tattoo. One dark in nature and the other to be light, like yin and yang.
Description:
I am looking for two Mermaids that will become the centerpiece of my full sleeve tattoo. I have always had a fascination with mermaids, and for my first serious piece of tattoo art, I would like a mermaid scene in a full sleeve on my left arm. Mermaids have this sexual, alluring and mysterious history in literature that I find interesting. I used to pretend I was a mermaid when I was a little girl. I would tie my mother’s slips on my feet and swim in the pool, the improvised tails always looked so pretty.
Here is a link to one of my favorite artist’s renditions of two mermaids:

Something similar to the mermaids in this would be perfect. Some of the differences I would like on my tattoo that are not on the example are:
- Mermaids should be very detailed
- One should be dark in nature and the other to be light, like yin and yang
- The dark mermaid would have dark hair and be evil or slightly dead looking
- The light mermaid would have blonde, (not yellow, white) hair, and be healthy and look appealing
- A dimple on the mermaid’s face would be nice...just one on the right side
- Red is my favorite color and I am thinking it will look good with my pale skin
- My other favorite colors are purple and blue
- SIZE: Both mermaids would be the same size, about 8 inches long. With the overlap between the two mermaids the tattoo comes out to be about 12 inches long (total) x 6 inches wide
>> Please do NOT include any background in the designs. I am still trying to decide what I want the surround to look like.
If you have any questions just leave me a comment. I am happy to answer. Thanks!

--My day just opened up--
"Thank you! Are you interested in seeing any changes- or are you pretty settled at this point? I'll be continuing my progress anyway so if you want to see anything for curiosity's sake just let me know!"
The more information I get from you the better I can try and design something you like.
THanks
You mentioned that you'd like to see some straight lines a bit more wavey and watery. Which specific areas have the straight lines you want more fluid?
Just let me know and we can figure out a solution.

Is this piece intended for the centre of the upper arm? I would still like do get together a few other ideas if I get the chance, but I need to know where abouts the exact placement will be, as this will heavily influence the shape of the design. I would then be able to design the piece to suit you anatomically. No doubt I will have more questions...until then, Cheers, Mayer

I get a feel for what you want, but where can I find a pic of your sleeve?
If this is going to be a center piece... you want it to flow perfect with what you already got.
Cheers!

Where are you looking to have this tattoo inked, arm, back, shoulder, etc.
And I noticed you were interested in an evil mermaid. How evil do you want her?
Thanks.
Thanks!

I would love to see how the mermaids would look with some color added to them :-)
