Summary:
Man writing at a desk with creatures (representing his thoughts) exploding out of his head - Very Alex Pardee.
Description:
Ok guys and gals. I'm calling out all artists with an extremely active imagination.
The design I want is of a man writing at a desk onto a piece of paper with the creatures from Alex Pardee's "Escaped Conviction" piece extravagantly bursting out of his head (no gore please!) up into the air and then racing back down to the page he's writing on. The creatures represent his thoughts.
Angle - Preferably right side profile, as per the attached image. Though, i'm open to how close the design is i.e. upper body or full body.
Colour - I'd like the man to be black and white. However, I want serious emphasis, colour, detail and attention on the creatures as they're the most important part of the tattoo given that they represent his thoughts.
Size - Half Sleeve, from upper arm to just above forearm.
If detail can be included of the man then i'd like him to be a young man (25-30) with spikyish hair and a slight beard. Wearing a chequed long sleeved shirt but with rolled up cuffs.
Really excited to see what you guys can come up with.
Additional Details:
- Gender: Male
- Size: 5 x 4 inches
- Detail: High

Forgot a couple of details!
- I forgot to mention that i'm also open to the idea of the creatures just exploding out of his head and criss-crossing with eachother randomly in the air - if you feel it would work better as a tattoo.
- Also, the actual creatures themselves, i'd like the detail that's on the image i've enclosed i.e. some with a mouth and teeth etc. Have fun with it.

One more thing guys, promise!
- Further to the last updated description, if you are going to draw the creatures criss-crossing with eachother in the air... i'd like them to be staring down at the page, as if they're forming some sort of attack on the paper.
I think that's about it, any questions, give me a shout. I appreciate this is a bit of a challenge!

I imagined the top curve of the monsters paralleling the top of your shoulder, then the character would fall right above your elbow. Then the creatures would be going up a good portion of your arm, really only leaving your bicep bare. And this is me picturing the tattoo on the right arm. If you would want it on the left, it can just as easily be flipped.
Sputnic - Just seen your comments and questions with your design which I've just stumbled across;
A) My skin tone is caucasian
B) Yeah It'll be wrapped around my arm to a point... as I've got text on the inside of both arms
C) Yeah right arm, I think ?!
Just a further point - i've kinda' made a decision after looking at Sputnic's for about two hours solid. Everything about the guy, the shading/shadowing and the angle and scale is perfect, absolutely, I don't want any of that changing. It's just the creatures that i'd like changing to make them look more like Alex Pardee's in his piece... in the same vein (trying not to confuse things but I know I am) I also do like the expanse and volume of the creatures in your design, giving the overall tattoo a consistant oval shape with hardly any space for skin.
I'm open to how it's done, i.e. the way you've done it, or some sort of hole in his head and a narrow stream of the creatures travelling out and then bursting above his head... so the guy can still have hair.
Cheers!
First off, the design of the guy is near perfect. It's rugged, it's gloomy, it's what I had in my head - and better. Secondly, i'm liking the scale of it, I wasn't sure about the full body scale as I didn't want it to detract/negate the emphasis I wanted on the creatures. Which leads me to what I consider the main part of the piece. They're extravagant to say the least but they're a little too... maybe too swirly? If that's even the right word. I picture them a little more solid and formed, and some with features.
Thanks for the effort though, appreciated.
Cool, though, i'll be checking to see what you come up with.
