I've been looking at the work of those artists you mentioned. They're excellent. I do like the mixed style. I like the fact that the tattoos are created for the individual, not just some stock thing out of a book. That's exactly what I'm looking for something that is unique to my identity, something that expresses my life, my family, my beliefs. You're definitely on the right track, can't wait to see what you come up with.

Ah Mainland born I see! Hehe. So cool, like you, I'm also part Hawaiian. Originally from Kauai.
I'll come up with something for you.
In the mean time, look up these tattoo artists if you'd like: Tricia Allen, Samuel Morgan Shaw, Island Tat. Can give you more ideas on what you may like.

My Mother is Hawaiian, she's from Molokai, my Dad was in the Army stationed there. Some of my brothers and sisters were born there but I got the luck of the draw, ha, and I was born here in Ohio..lol.

I saw the cross on your profile page and it is very cool also. You have a real gift and I like the hybrid designs

I can change any of them out. Just wanted to post those 2 up to give you an idea of certain styles. Go on my profile, I have a pic of a polynesian cross on there. Let me know what you think. If you have any questions about Polynesian style designs, feel free to ask. Don't let some artists fool you with meanings. In all honesty, ancient meanings are long gone. It's all up to the wearer of the tattoo to incorporate what they want and what they want it to mean to them. Lot of Poly tats now days are hybrids, like my designs. It's a mix of Hawaiian, Samoan and Maori.

Awesome Designs

These are awesome designs, on the first one I like the bold dark areas and the detail work is impressive, all the lines are sharp and aggressive, but I'm not sure of the placement, would it just go over my shoulder? The second one also is very detailed, nice clean lines I like the way the shark teeth extend a little bit past the line, makes them stand out more. I would like to see some of the inner work done in bold like the first one. Also would have to swap out the honu, maybe a cross, or maybe you could incorporate some family symbolism. Overall it is the style I'm looking for and the best line work I've seen so far, but it needs some tweeking to make it personal.
