Here is the beginning of the softer coloring...I am hand painting so it takes a little more time, but the results are worth it! Hope you like it so far...I am making the purple flower as the little one to the left of this one and doing rich burgundy for the left hand large peony. What do you think so far?

I can't wait to see the final version!!
not the final version though

This round is just for color decisions :)...I will re-do the blue one purple and follow your example for the feathers...this is just the one I had already begun, so I figured I would send it your way :)

Color, etc.
July 9 2012 3:45am
I knew I had seven day to choose but I didn't know if designs could be changed after the contest ended. Thanks for the update! I am so happy to hear you are not planning to color all of the flowers pink! Every color submission I've received so far have had all pink flowers. The burgundy and golden orange peonies sound stunning, do you think the third could be done in purples? As for the peacock feathers I added an example tattooed feather that is done in a color style that I really love. And thank you so much for wanting to redraw the final, I love this version but I'm excited to see it put together from scratch, I feel like the details will end up soft and beautiful just as I've imagined.
p.s.

I don't know if you knew this, but after you choose your winning artist, there are still seven days on the design transfer page to tweak and finalize the details of a piece. It's important info...also, I spelled 'too' wrong in the last post and it's been bugging me since I'm an English AP nerd.
just checking
July 9 2012 12:52am
I ask mostly because I wanted to know if I should go ahead and invest in the color version. Truth be told, I wanted to get all the placements just right and then draw up another sketch from scratch, so the detail isn't to dark and overwhelming. Can you tell me what colors you want the peonies? I started a color version just to play around with it, and I have one burgundy with pink and red accents, one sort of golden orange and one blue...also the feathers...any particular vision of their coloring, or are we sticking with traditional peacock feather colors? I'm not the greatest at digital coloring, so I may do one digital version and one hand colored...it's just a little alien to me using photo editing, but I'll do my best for you. :)

I love it!!

You are definitely still in the running. They have a nice design but I love your style so much more! The only reason you haven't gotten a five star rating yet is because we haven't gotten to the color yet. But I love this design and I'd love to see it in color!

some changes for you. I see you already have a five star design :) Am I still in the running? Just curious.

No worries!

No rush, I hope the storms didn't do any damage to anything else! Thank you again for working so much with me.
yes, of course
July 5 2012 3:22am
I can make all of those changes for you, no problem. It may take me a few days to get to it, plus my internet connection is being funky from local storms...so be patient with me :)

I also kind of miss how the left peacock feather used to be on its own vine, I loved how that looked!

46939 tweaks
July 4 2012 5:12pm
Okay I feel like such a pain but we are so close!!! Do you think we could move the left flower on 46939 down the vine a bit towards the base of the peacock feather but keep the leaves swirling up where they are? The only other minor changes I would like would be for the small central flower to curve upward a bit more and maybe for the flower on the right to be moved down some and show its vine like you did in 46937. I'm sorry for all the changes, but I love your styling the best and it's so close to perfect!

New versions

I think version three is my favorite, 46939. It has a nice flow to it and I like having a flower in the center!

one more for now....if you see portions that are perfect, we can keep them and still play around with the rest...there's plenty of time to get it just right. Thank you for the clear communication, it really makes a world of difference :)

Rearrangement
July 3 2012 2:47pm
I'm glad you agree! I hate asking you to do so many adjustments. Yes, I was thinking the smaller flower could be replaced with the feather and then another cluster of flowers could be in the middle. I would prefer that the piece did not go up my neck, so maybe it could be in a kind of v or u shape? I don't mind if it's wider or longer, I can always have it placed low enough on my back that it won't reach my neck in the middle.
OH!
July 3 2012 10:00am
Oh! I just realized what you meant with the feather...you meant REPLACE that little flower with the feather....hmmmm...that might just work
I think
July 3 2012 9:57am
I think you are absolutely right. The piece needs to be re-sized a bit and toyed around with.

I wanted to make sure we had the style of the elements down before tweaking anything further.
That feather might work flipped around on the right...I also think the length of the vinework could be extended a bit for flow. The flowers and feathers are pretty, just too close together....how wide do you want this at it's widest section? And can the design run toward your neck at all? Is there a limit to how many flowers you want? Sorry for all the questions :)

Bigger feathers
July 3 2012 2:19am
I love the bigger feathers, I'm really excited to see them colored! The only other thing I am wavering on is the balance of the piece. Let's see if I can explain this and have it make sense. It feels almost as if the piece is lacking a center. I love all of the aspects but it just feels a little off balance I hope that makes sense. Do you think it would look good to have the central peacock fetcher moved to where the smaller flower is on the upper right side? But have it curving the other way? Then perhaps a flower and leaf cluster could be in the middle... I'm not sure. What do you think?

Here are new feathers for you. All of these elements can be played around with and re-positioned if you wish as well. As soon as you give me the go ahead, I can add color. Remember also, that the line design is the most important factor because your tattoo artist will be able to detail your colors more precisely.
:)
July 1 2012 1:59am
Thank you.
All of the things you have told me, will now be a part of your design... because I will think about the meanings that they hold for you.
Tattoos are very personal and as an artist, it is important to me that I have an understanding and connection with what I am creating...it makes everything come alive in the process.
and a big congratulations on your graduation!!!!! :D The world is now your playground.

And since I'm explaining...
July 1 2012 1:38am
The peacock feathers are also linked to my graduating, peacocks have always represented pride and beauty to me. For me this is a time to show my true potential or my 'true colors' and what does a better job of showing its colors as a peacock?

Peonies:
July 1 2012 1:28am
Thank you for being so open about changes!
I am getting this tattoo because I just graduated from college and I would like to mark this moment in my life. I chose peonies because of their connection to prosperity and good fortune, the path which I hope to follow now that I've finished my schooling. Also, of course, because they are beautiful :)
whatever changes you like
July 1 2012 12:33am
of course. I have a bit of a busy day tomorrow, but I will have some time in the evening to re-work your peacock feathers. Larger and more rounded...if there's anything else you would like to alter just drop me a note. I'm very pleased that you like it. I really love the intricacies of the peony.

Out of curiosity, why are they important to you? They have some lovely symbolism attached to them, as I'm sure you are aware...

Wow!
June 30 2012 11:56pm
This is stunning! The vine work, leaves and peonies are absolutely gorgeous. Do you think the peacock feathers could be styled a little differently? I love the way they come from the vine but could they be a little bigger and more rounded like the first example picture?

Any and all lines can be changed, extended etc. Size of flowers can also be changed to suit your tastes. This page (and all others underneath your artists' submissions) are private, between you and that particular artist. The most important thing in attaining your perfect tattoo, is maintaining clear communication with the designer. That way we can create exactly what you want :) Let me know what you think so far, and then we can move on to the color versions!
Thanks a bunch :)
