The Two Most Powerful Representations of the Chinese Zodiac, The Dragon vs. The Tiger....
Description:
Ok, what i would like to do is have a chinese 5 clawed dragon start in the middle of my upper back and end w/ the head on the backside of the top of my right shoulder w/ the mouth open & two chinese characters coming out of the mouth down the back of my arm (the bottom character should be mostly covered by a short sleeved shirt). from the same starting point of the middle of my back, i would like a chinese tiger that ends w/ the head on the backside of the top of my left shoulder w/ the mouth open & two chinese characters coming out of the mouth down the back of my arm (the bottom character should be mostly covered by a short sleeved shirt). i have 5 tattoos currently w/ very little color. i'm more about what the tattoos represent in my life rather than the "art" of tattoos. i would like some color in the new piece but nothing over the top. the Tiger is the year my first son was born & the characters are his chinese name given by my maternal grandmother (characters included on the attached file) and the Dragon is the year my 2nd son will be born (any day now) but i do not have his chinese charactrs yet as my grandmother likes to meet the child first. i was also thinking of tying together the start of the tattoos in some way, maybe the tiger & dragon come out of a yin & yang symbol which is actually one representation of the Tiger vs. Dragon styles of martial arts. the dragon represented by the yang symbol which is the light side or white side & the tiger represented by the yin symbol or the dark side. anyways, i'm very excited to see what designs people come up with!!

wow, i really like both entries....i like how the dragon & tiger look like they're coming out of the yin/yang symbol on entry 47390 but i also like how the tails wrap around the symbol in entry 47433 & 47434. i also like the dragon better from the entries 47433/47434 but i like the tiger better from entries 47390/47391. not sure on the colors yet, let me sit w/ that for a bit....keep it up, i like what i see so far!!
I saw this and wondered if I was gonna be invited. Within 5 hours I received your invitation. It makes me really happy that I get one from almost every Asian-style contest. It makes me happier when I win them! Haha. I have scheduled you for next week, so I will upload my logo to start a thread for us. Thank you for the invitation, Iwould have been joining this contest with or without it because I love this type of design challenges. I look forward to working closely with you to help you realize your vision. BlindDog
the chinese characters will not be the same on both sides but unfortunately, i do not have the characters for the side of the dragon. although, i believe they will be the same size...hope that helps.
