I've got another very different design coming your way shortly...it's completely different to anything that's already been posted. What the heck, I figure I might as well throw something way out there at you! Coming soon!

First of all, thanks for your choice!

Altough i am really happy with the final result of the design, and also with your choice so far, I´ll have to agree with them,
the final result will depend on many factors, such as the quality of the tattoo artist work or even the tones on your own skin.
On my part, tonight i will work something out to find out a way to translate it better into a tattoo.

Thanks again!

I agree with Dane!

I was going to comment the exact same thing as Dane...that design #1571thunderbird which has your highest rating so far, although will make a beautiful painting will not necessarily translate into a tattoo very well. I'd hate to see you pay for something that the artist cannot use!

keep in mind what will actually work as a tattoo. because there are somethings that just wont translate over in a tattoo. if you took that design anywhere, most artists will tell you they will totally have to redraw it. not trying to crap on the art. just saying it cant be tattooed like that.

Sorry i have not given much feedback but im in afganistan and have been on mission for a week. Really like 1571 but could it be a little more wide. and also i would like to see the warrior culture integrated into the design. I like the tomahawk design in 1522 and would like to see more of this type of thing. maybe something for the back or a sleeve for the forearm.

Yes this is a common thunderbird legend. The bird holds many legends with many tribes across north america. In Cherokee legend it was a bird of prey that came with the thunder and carried off unguarded children. It was used to show the importance of protecting ones family and never leaving them unguarded.

Ive been looking around and noticed that the Cherokee originated in the east while the thunderbird myth originated in the pacific northwest. it is also commonly depicted holding a killer whale in its talons. It goes along with a story that the Quillayute tribe was starving and asked the spirit whether they are to live or die. the thunderbird descended from the clouds and left them a whale to feast upon. also another story is the thunderbird grabs the whale to take back to its roost and looses it. they battle over and over until the whale goes far out to sea and the thunderbird gives up, thats why whales stay far out to sea.

so would you like a thunderbird grasping an orca possibly?

If I do a native style. Does it have to be true? I dont know native art like the back of my hand. there might be meaning in the patterns..

Im talking about styles like this : http://www.littlebearart.ca/mythology.html http://www.justart.ca/thunderbird-panel-stan-wamiss-158-pictures.htm
