Summary:
Biomech, detail, depth, 3D skin tearing effect.
Description:
I have a current tattoo outline on my left side ribcage, and I'd like to cover it up.
The concept will be the same, I just want it to look more realistic than it currently is.
The tattoo is fairly large (maybe 11" x 11") and it will be mostly black and white. Some details should be colored, but since most mech parts are silver/metal looking I'd like to stick to that.
I have a sketch of an idea already that I got started, but the original artist hasn't been responsive and therefore it isn't likely to be finished.
I welcome changes if it flows with the part I had done.
It's 4 large-ish tears through the skin (not connected to each other) as if some giant claws ripped through. The original plan was for it to seem like there was metal plating under the skin, and the gash cut through both the skin an metal. I'm not sure if that's possible at this point, but I welcome it.
There is an arc of electricity linking the 3 bottom slashes. I hadn't thought about the color for this, so I'm open to suggestions.
Pictures:
The first is the original.
The second is the small part I had done.
The third is the original outline I did traced in Photoshop.
The fourth is what my friend came up with that's unfinished.
Feel free to follow the sketch in the last photo, make it better, anything.

I only realized I had to invite artists about halfway through the total time I put it up for..
I hope no one minds..
I would however like some details in color.. You know, a couple of wires here and there being red just to accent different parts would look good. Maybe the a tint of blue or orange here and there to give it that metallic/rusty look in some parts?
But not overly colorful. My main concern is the bottom two slashes which are completely unfinished. Since it's a cover-up, I know it's harder to work with. And I was told the bottom slash would be the hardest to completely re-do, so it would be better if it used some of the existing art.
I would really love to get rid of that goopy looking stuff on the top part of the bottom two slashes at well.
I really like the torn skin effect present on the top two, and if the same idea could be used throughout, I think that this might be the best tattoo I'll ever have.
cheers,
hex
Sincerely, Mr. Sinister
Basically what I've already had done is the top slash in the 4th picture. (the 2nd picture shows this part)
I'd like to keep the same style as the 4th picture as well, it just needs to be completed.
