Summary:
I want this tattoo to be bright and lots of flowers it is in memory of my grandma who loved gardening
Description:
I am looking for a tattoo that is a wreath type shape of many different bright colored flowers (roses especially) and vines. I would like a little lady bug on one side maybe on a leaf and a humming bird by a big open flower on the other. In the middle i would like " Always In My Heart" & 04-10-23/07-05-10 somewhere in nice font. I like unique and different but nice and clear. I am thinking to put it on my shoulder or my ankle - either way not too-too big.

Your smaller flowers (the ball shaped ones) far to many lines in there, it will all bleed together. The roses are better, all the lines in the center of the roses are going to bleed together. Bird isnt bad, the top of the wings where you have all the skinny feathers will bleed together, same with some of the feathers on its butt. The big font is fine, the little font might have some issues with a couple numbers in the future, like the 3.
Not bashing you at all, trying to help you grow as a tat designer since your really into it. Its great to have your art on someones body but take into account bleed, skin color, and lifestyle. Someone who is a surfer and out in the sun constantly with tats always exposed is gonna bleed more then an office worker that always has them covered. Also some people just break down the ink faster then others. I have a duck on my ankle I got when I was 17, Im only 23 and his eyes have bled to the point they look closed. (they were half lidded eyes). My tats on my upper arms are starting to bleed out (have had them for almost 5 years some areas I had only a millimeter in between the lines and now its bled together. My mom had a rose on her inner thigh and after getting pregnant with me and years of sun its now a blob, completely unrecognizable. I saw old photos of it and all the lines were really close together.
http://www.getinked.co.uk/before and after.jpg take this one for example. not to much detail in her face but it still bled together. the less detail the better. but when it fades really bad like that its easier to cover up or touch up like the redone tat next to it.
Have you studied tattooing at all? It will help you understand how tats work and last. and thus you will become a better flash artist.
Keep up the good work :D
I think this is a lovely tribute to your grandmother. There are several ladies in my own family that have a love for flower gardening. I would like to create something for you that can capture the beauty of such gardens. I feel the best way for me to do that is to give the wreath a more asymmetrical look. I tried doing a symmetrical one, but, it didn't feel quite right to me. So, I'm thinking of doing clusters of smaller flowers on the side that is currently blank, with maybe one large flower, and tie in some vines and leaves. I think that would make for a little more of a unique design. I submitted my current sketch for you to take a look at, so you could get an idea of where I'm going, and to see if you would like me to continue with what I've got in mind.
